Notable Race Wins:

Coral Welsh National: 2012

Monbeg Dude propelled on to the scene when causing a 25/1 shock in a competitive Cheltenham Grade Three handicap chase in November 2012 and the Michael Scudamore-trained raider used that as a stepping stone for more glory as he then went on to storm to Coral Welsh National success a few weeks late.

The Chepstow showpiece launched Monbeg Dude into the limelight and was etched into the notebooks of many as a potential Grand National candidate and the nine-year-old will now look to sparkle at Aintree on April 5 and he is a prominet figure in the 2014 Grand National Betting which will take shape nearer the big race.

He breezed into the race that day and whilst many found it tough going turning into the home straight, Scudamore's stable star caught the eye as he went further and further and a marathon test on Merseyside should play into his strengths and he will be a leading contender.

Another win at Cheltenham in December showed that he still possesses all the quality he had shown at Prestbury Park the year before, but he did somewhat disappoint when finishing fifth of twelve in the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster, so he will need to bounce back, however, he can be forgiven that bad run and will be a major player in the spring showpiece.
