Age: 10

Trainer: Donald McCain

Notable Race Wins:

Rendlesham Hurdle: 2013

Donald McCain has always been a man associated with the Grand National, as his father Ginger was the mastermind behind Red Rum's magnificent treble in the Aintree marathon and he will now look to notch another victory in the race and Across The Bay will certainly be a lively outsider for the McCain family.

Having won the 2013 Rendlesham Hurdle, Across The Bay was quietly fancied going to Merseyside and he was a prominent figure most of the contest before struggling to go the pace in the final mile and ended up finishing 14th, but that spin round the course should leave him in good stead for a tilt at the 2014 renewal.

Eighth in the Becher Chase showed he has no problem with the fences and he followed that up with a win in the Last Fling Chase at Haydock Park before falling in the Grand National Trial at the same track, but if he can bounce back from that effort then has to come under consideration and will be aiming to build on last season's 14th finish.
